Picture of the Week - November 2009

17th November 2009 - Prep Blue Art Exhibition

This week my Prep class held an Art Exhibition and Concert for our parents. We sang two songs and then unveiled our self portraits which we had created in Visual Arts earlier this term. The trick for our parents was that all the self portraits were un-named and they had to guess which one belonged to their child (they also had to try and guess who the rest of them belonged to, but my parents were flat out trying to guess me let alone anyone else).

They did eventually get guess my canvass correctly but, it really was, a guess! (Which, in their defence, was probably because I looked like an asian version of myself but with a nose twice the size of my mouth and triangular shaped black eyebrows). The hilarious thing was that a lot of other parents guessed my canvass as well - because I had gone to the trouble to paint the word "Prep" on the collar of my shirt in the painting.

This photo was taken at the start of the night. You'll notice two things:-

1. Yes, I am now the tallest in my class; and
2. No, I am not in fancy dress. Why? Because my Mama forgot (and is now ready to accept the Worst Mother of 2009 Award as a result).

Ready to sing
10th November 2009 - My Best Prep Friend, Stephen.

Stephen is my very best Prep Blue friend. We have been friends since day 1 of Prep and we really enjoy each other's company. We are, however, like chalk and cheese. At the end of the day, I walk out of the Prep classroom generally looking as dishevelled and unruly as possible. Stephen walks out looking pristine and immaculate. Our hats, displayed in the photo below, pretty much sum those differences up (and yes, mine was brand new at the start of the year - seriously!!!!).
